Progress Report in Bei Cala
Our man in Timor Leste, Jino Pereira, has provided this report on his ongoing work in Bei Cala.
Project update
Starting date 03/02/2012 and 04/02/2012
Some of the major things we finished were:
- Land Clearing
- Digging for foundation, Length 36 Meter deep foundations 50 cm based on design (3 class room & one room will be dividing in two sections teacher office and library)
Goods were on hand:
- Rocks and Sends were indoors (as per receipts attached)
- Constructions Trolley on site (as per receipts attached)
- Shovel Square mouth (as per receipts attached)
- Nail 8mm (as per receipts attached)
- Bucket (as per receipts attached)
- Cement 40Kg (as per receipts attached)
- Reinforcing deformed steel bar 10mm & 6mm (as per receipts attached)
Some of the important things have not finish were:
- Foundation constructions is ongoing, starting date 06/02/2012 Estimations six days to be completed.
A challenge I overcome was:
- Provides foods for workers 5 bags of rice (25 kg each) (we owe the vender) have not paid. US$100 ( As per conversations on phone Payment will be conduct on Saturday 11/02/2012)
- Vegetables & Beans 15 Kg US$45 have not paid. ( As per conversations on phone Payment will be conduct on Saturday 11/02/2012)
Problem I have:
- It seem like not sufficient rocks for foundations and Reinforcing deformed steel bar, I had asked vendor to collect 25 trucks to be pay in next budget.
- Whether raining seasons can be affect for delaying.
My Target for next week are:
- Footing and Block Foundation (order conrict brict qty 2500 to be pay on next budget)
- Back fill
Note: I have not taken photos for following stuffs as I running out of time to come to Dili (that stuff are kept in Joanino’s house. (I will attach photos on weekly report next week)
