My sister and I had the pleasure of being part of the studio audience for an episode of SBS Insight with Jenny Brockie which aired on the 16th May, 2012. We were amongst many Afghan-Australians who had all suffered over the past 50 years of unrest and war in their homeland. It was a humbling and yet also uplifting experience as the issue of Coalition troop withdrawal from Afghanistan was discussed. I believe I can say that the main area of disagreement was the timeline of withdrawal. We all believed it ws inevitable but equally concerned about the outcome when it happened.

Thank you to Insight for the experience I feel that I know a little more than I did before, perhaps my only regret is not getting a picture with Jenny Brockie.

On another note I will be travelling to East Timor in the July school holidays to participate in the opening of our school project in the village of Bei Cala. This has been a nearly three year journey for us and it will be great to see the outcome.
